
Anita Faulkner, LPCS
Anita Faulkner, LPCS is a licensed professional counselor supervisor at Family Solutions in both Greensboro and Burlington, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Anita works primarily with children, adolescents, parents, and families, emphasizing evidence-based practices and faith-based counseling in various settings including office, in-home, and school-based. Over the past five years, she has focused on incorporating treatment models specifically for trauma treatment. She has served on the Guilford County Trauma Task Force, working to provide avenues for the community to be more traumainformed as a whole.
She served families as a mental health consultant with Head Start (Guilford Child Development) for seven years. She also was the Early Childhood Mental Health consultant in Alamance County, working with the Alamance Alliance for Children, the Alamance Partnership for Children, and the Project Launch grant. She provides early intervention through observation, assessments, and brief classroom consultation in childcare settings, as well as provides pre-school teacher trainings and support using the Incredible Years Teacher curriculum.
Clinical supervision, and supervision for licensure are additional roles that Anita fills at Family Solutions. One of her professional interests is encouraging and supporting other clinicians as they become part of the counseling profession.
