Lalani Reaves, MS, MFT, LMFT

Lalani Reaves is all things “family”. She is a wife, mother of 3 children and a new grandmother of a beautiful 3-month-old baby girl. Lalani is from North Carolina and grew up in the small town of Henderson.

Lalani attended and graduated from Capella University where she received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Lalani became licensed this year as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Lalani is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. Lalani is currently pursuing her doctorate in Developmental Psychology at Capella
University.

Lalani became a single parent at the age of 20 and remained a single parent until the age of 40.  Lalani is also a survivor of domestic abuse. Her life experiences have taught great lessons and have given context to her approach to therapy. Lalani can be quiet as she observes before implementing techniques or interventions. Lalani truly believes each treatment plan created must be tailored to the client and their family to be most successful.

Lalani volunteers at the Family Justice Center on the VOICES committee which is made up of survivors of domestic abuse. This group raises awareness to domestic violence by sharing their personal stories at various community events. Lalani has served on the Commission on the Status of Women and chaired the Violence Against Women committee. Lalani is currently serving at the Family Justice Center providing mental health services to victims of abuse.

Lalani enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and truly enjoys helping others. Lalani loves her church family and is active in the church choir.
